Meeting People through Inernet Dating |

Internet or online dating can be a very useful and successful way for single people to start relationships and make friendships. There are many people who meet their significant other today online. Unfortunately, some people need to learn some manners when joining a dating site.
When initiating contact a short email is usually sufficient to get someone's attentions. It should be upbeat and describe a little about a person's interest and personality. If the recipient of the email choses to ignore it and does not respond to the email, then the sender should respect that decision. Maybe one courteous follow up email would be fine, but to harrass someone afterwards because they are not noticed is ridiculous and usually does nothing but inflame the situation. It certainly is not going to impress anyone.
We all have to learn to accept rejection and understand that we are not for everyone. Also, many people feel to respond with rejection will hurt the other person's feelings.
Another issue that does come up with online dating is the problem in the public chatrooms. There are various chatrooms and usually there are rules and they many times are enforced. There are adult chatrooms for more sexually suggestive material and there are basic chatrooms where singles can talk about dating , the weather or any other topic which also might be flirtatious but not offensive.
Webcam or webchat is also abused at time especially with free online dating sites. The reason for this is they don't have to worry about paying and can come back under another profile! It can and should be used for fun and as a means to get to know the other person better before meeting face to face. If there is more provative contact, it should be consensual!
Internet dating is replacing the traditional way of meeting people and can and should be safe, fun and above all respectful!
